Department of PEACE
When asked to define for me what the Department of Peace means I perused the memories of my life, I looked at the past, the present and then to the possibilities of our future. I realized for me the answer is truly simple. Without a positive roadmap and a succinct outline for humanity, the present and ensuing future would continue to follow the old way that is far too rutted with turmoil, violence and death and too impossible and painfully destructive to travel any longer.
The tenets, the vision of the Department of Peace is akin to” The Symphony of Living Things” and gives us the blueprint, the viable means to sustain us as human beings. It is a ‘Promise of Hope’ that every individual can light their torches to, one that was pledged to us through our Bill of Rights, by our Forefathers who sought Peace.
The Department of Peace creates for us a ‘new paradigm’ a ‘new language of non-violence’, a ‘new perspective to take hold and live by’ and one that brings us together rather than separates us.
The creation of this Department of Peace paves the way to the creation of a society of responsible and accountable individuals. It will assist us to write a new story by listening compassionately to the wrongs that have been done and offering amends, viable ways to bring equality and healing to those who have suffered and to create new forms of energy and food that allow a sustainable earth. We will begin to demonstrate with all of our words, thoughts and actions that we choose global harmony. When one recognizes the peace within them it flows over to family, to community, to state, to nations and to the world.
